This Pestle and Mortar is cut out of one single, solid piece of white natural marble stone, found only on Brač Island, Croatia.
The natural stone lets you experience the natural flavours and aromas when you mash your spices and herbs.
The finishes are sophisticated and polished. The mortar is heavy and sits comfortably on your countertop without sliding. The pestle is long, heavy and comfortably shaped to have a good grip.
We named this pestle and mortar "Mužar", which in the local Dalmatian dialect means a bowl in which coffee or other seeds, and herbs are crushed. This collection was handcrafted by Jurica Eterović, the 2nd generation of the family of stonemasons in Pučišća village on Brač Island.
Each mortar is unique, as no stone piece is the same.
