Pijatin is a result of a generational work of artists on Brač Island in Dalmatia, Croatia. The stonework they created was globally appreciated and cared for since Roman times, as it persisted for eternity. Artists across the known world worked with Brač stone, as no other stone has such texture, strength and colour.
From those days until today, generations of excellent Brač stonemasons live and die with stone. Brač stone is not extracted, as it is not a matter of mere exploitation of a valuable resource: Brač stone is "picked", with respect and gratitude, as a precious fruit given by nature.
We named this plate "Pijatin", which in local dialect stands for a small handcrafted plate used at the family table. This collection was created by Jurica Eterović, who represents the 2nd generation of the family of artists in Pučišća village on Brač Island. Jurica inherited his father's skills and workshops used to create beautiful products.
Each plate is unique as no stone piece is the same. They are handcrafted in Pučišća village in the centre of Mediterranean Dalmatia.

Caring for a stone plate requires warm water and soap, or baking soda. Plates may darken as they develop a seasoning with common use, which is a natural process, showing we used the plates for things as simple, and as wonderful - as caring for our friends and family.
